Seattle Work
On this page, I'll post pictures of the jobs I'm
doing locally. It will be in a constant state of growth and evolution (I hope!)
so check back often. You can click on the pictures for a larger view.
Wallbeds have gotten a page of their own. Click

My local deliveries are handled by Adam's
Moving Service. I can always depend on them to get your cabinets there in
fine shape!

These units are in a home in Wedgewood. Plenty
of room for books, toys, and the flat-screen. |
On the left, an expanded kitchen area in Woodinville.
These cabinets went in a space that used to be the pantry. On the right,
cabinets to replace the pantry that she lost. The client told me
that she had it loaded up before I got back to the shop! |
Two bookcases in West Seattle, primed.
This is a unit on Mercer Island. I've included a couple
of shots of the trim, so you can see the detail. |
In the same room, I built a double workstation. |
In Mountlake Terrace, I built two cherry
cabinets flanking the fireplace. |
Right on the water in Edmonds, I built this cherry
entertainment center and storage unit. |
I put this bookcase and storage unit at the
top of a stairway in a Ballard townhome. |
In West Seattle, I built these bookcases under the
stairs. |
In Ballard, I installed a fireplace surround and
bookcases.
Just a little addition, here. I added the
shelves above the existing cabinets. |
Here's a before and after of a job near the
Fauntleroy ferry dock. I removed the old cabinet, and replaced it with a
nice alder unit.

Three pieces in a home right on Lake
Washington: A mantle for the living room, another for the master suite,
and a stereo cabinet to match existing units in the living room. |
At almost 16 feet wide, this unit was too big for the
camera, but it sure filled the room nicely! |
A clean, simple, painted bookcase in Lynnwood. |
A home office and TV stand in Kirkland.
Cherry, with flat-panel doors. |
These two simple cabinets bring a welcome
entry into this remodeled kitchen in an Alki Beach home. |
If you had an office with a beautiful forest
view like this one in North Bend, how much work would you get
done? Cherry, with raised panel doors and drawer fronts, gives a warm,
traditional feeling. |
Just in time for Christmas 2007, a cherry home
office for two in Mukilteo. Beautiful! |
We worked in three rooms in this Madison Park
home. In the living room, two niche cabinets flank the front window. In
the bedroom, two more set off the fireplace. And, of course, the home
office. All of these cabinets are maple plywood, with MDF trim and alder
doors and drawer fronts, painted. |
It doesn't show to its best advantage, but
this is a floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall cube bookcase and display unit in a Ballard condo. Maple, with a clear finish. |
These four units went in a Laurelhurst home.
A big-screen entertainment center, a cubby for the wet coats, a built-in
armoire, and a
small home office. Alder, with a Candlelight stain. |
A new home in Bellevue for the big, 50 inch
plasma! This unit is of alder, with a nutmeg finish. |
This was a big job on Camano Island. Around
an upstairs hall, I placed a floor-to-ceiling bookcase, two
bookcase/storage units, and a base unit as an anchor for a picture wall.
These units were in alder, with a Candlelight finish. Downstairs in the
family room, I put in a queen-sized wallbed for overnight guests.
This was oak, Golden Oak finish. As a bonus, I saw a bald eagle. Cool! |
Got shelves? This Green Lake house got the
full treatment: Work station, entertainment center, and almost one
hundred and fifty linear feet of bookshelves. The pictures don't show
clearly that these units are side-by-side, spanning a twenty-four foot
long wall. |
A nice, compact storage unit and workstation. This
photo only shows the primer coat, and no trim hardware, but you get the
idea! |
A place to put the DVDs. This maple veneered cabinet has
eleven full extension drawers, and extra depth in the back to hide all
the wires routed from the screen to the media equipment. The maple also
extends up and around the screen. The pulls and trim are custom
fabricated steel. Finish is clear lacquer. |
Just in time for Christmas 2006, this entertainment center
is of alder, with a nutmeg stain. Raised panel doors, adjustable
shelves, a TV pullout, and lighted display areas at the top. |
A deep, wide space next to the fireplace was
filled with a nice, efficient storage and display area. An existing heat
duct was rerouted through the baseboard. |
How's this for an accent wall? V-groove wainscoting,
custom pilasters, and a classic head. The client did the painting. I
offered her a job! |
Same client; different room. The original mantel was just
deep enough for a wine glass. So we replaced it with a deeper shelf, and
custom brackets. |
Turn that dead corner into a functional space, with a
desk, cabinet, and shelves. |
Here's a small job. Just a simple, replacement built-in
dresser. But the client was delighted to get new drawers, on
full-extension slides, that her daughter could open "all by
myself!" |
The new owners of this Bellevue home wanted
the old, simple wainscoting replaced with something nicer. The dining
room received a painted, raised panel upgrade. The office got the full
treatment: cherry raised panel wainscoting, and a cherry built-in with
shelves and lateral file drawers. |
A very nice bookcase and entertainment
center, of nutmeg stained alder. The proud owner said that getting this
unit was like "going to Disneyland!" |
Tired of an old, inefficient pantry? This
unit, of finished maple plywood with adjustable shelves and
full-extension drawers really did the trick. |
Window seats. They aren't painted yet, and
they still need cushions. But they bring plenty of storage and a comfy
place to relax in this new home on Camano Island. |
Here's a window seat in Wallingford |
Big cabinets; small room. So, the picture doesn't really
do them justice. Floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall clear fir cabinets.
Plenty of room for the computer server, storage and display in this
graphic designer's home office. The client did the finish work himself,
and did a beautiful job! |
A simple, painted bookcase, for a home in
Leshi. The client's parents were so impressed that they ordered
one! |
A pair of cabinets for the same Leshi home.
The right-hand view shows the adjustable shelves, silvercloth-lined
drawer, and full-extension pull outs in the base. |
Here's a pair of bathroom cabinets, made out
of bamboo plywood. It's the first time I worked with it, and they came
out looking really nice. The client gave them a clear coat of finish, to
match the bamboo flooring. |
Adjustable bookshelves, of clear fir plywood with clear
fir edging. Oil finish. Clean, and elegant. |
This entertainment center was fit into a recess next to
the fireplace. It gave a new, clean home to the big-screen TV, with
component space and storage below, and display above. Those little, tiny
speakers sound awesome! |
These units are at the opposite ends of a
long bedroom. Cabinets, drawers, countertops, and display shelves: what
more could anyone want? |
New shelving adds lots of display space to
each side of the existing fireplace surround in this Lower Queen Anne
condo. |
Display shelves, storage, and custom moldings
surround the stone fireplace with the warmth of cherry in this Bridle
Path home. |
Home office in Kenmore, done in clear maple,
with four file drawers, eight utility drawers, and plenty of bookshelf
space. (A later note: the clients moved to a new home, and I reinstalled
the office there!) |

client gets a page all to himself! Click here to see
it. |
These two pieces are in a home on Vashon
Island. On the left is a hickory storage cabinet with shelves, added to
existing cabinets. On the right is an oak bookcase. |
The rear-projection TV went, and the LCD came
in, leaving a lot of extra space. So I built this filler unit with four
full-extension drawers for CDs and DVDs, and a very heavy-duty slider to
bring the TV out for better viewing. |
Here's a very special maple jeweler's bench,
for a very special jeweler: my wife! |
